I went to Bournemouth last night to watch the opening, couldn't see a lot, there was as expected thousands of people but the forest stages I went to today were awesome. No crashes as far as I know.

That was funny, I started this Topic in Pie and Piston and some mod immediately presumed a £10million boat racing along a gravel track would only appeal to sailors! rolleyes

I was there too. First time I'd been to a gravel rally and I thought it was great! Fantastic commitment from the very fastest guys up front as well as some of the lower-seeded runners such as the Galant VR4 and the Discos and Freelanders, which sounded great even if they looked a bit bizarre! Best sight for me though was the 0 Safety Car which was this Rothmans-liveried Escort. Not only did it look superb but it sounded awesome too.

The Landies

Freelander Auto (!) scrabbling out of a ditch...

Winner Marcus Dodd's Hyundai Accent WRC

Andy Burton's hybrid Peugeot Cosworth

Stephen Moore's superb Focus WRC 06

And a rally's not a rally without a classic Mk1 really, is it?

The rest are here.

Excellent pictures guys, well done. Took loads myself but not quite up to those standards !! A good little dose of rallying and the weather was superb. Cant wait for the next meet wherever that is !! Will be back in Bournemouth next year for sure.

Just got back from a couple of Stages in Whareham and Staple Hill today, if anyone spotted a muddy silver E39 528 in the car park, it was mine, anyone here go this year?

I'm sure there was a more recent thread on this, rather than finding one from 3 years ago!
