Hello folks,
Dilemma time.....In short, do I get a TR6 or a TVR S1/2/3..(or wild card wedge)
I like both and understand both are of different character.
It will live outside under cover, and used as a cobweb clearing fun thing for myself and son. I suppose I have about 6k to spend.
I must be getting old, (or bored!!)
If anyone has any other suggestions, please fire away, It must make a good 'noise' and be a soft top.
Ta folks,
Mike.:boringfamilyman2kidsdogcatwife2carsworkingshifts:

Mike my first was a V8s - more fun than you could shake a stick at!!
Trouble is every other bugger at work starts to believe you're on the take and Complaints Dept start to take an interest - honest!!

Mike, have you been reading my mind..?
I've been pondering a similar question for the last few weeks m'self. TVR S, or Wedge, or 'interesting kit-car'? But now you've mentioned the TR6, Hmmm...

Thanks for the replies, looks like TVR's are in the lead.
Don't wedges have big reliability problems?

V8 wedges are quite simply the most awesome sounding TVR's ever made

Nearly..

We are all biased here as you can tell.. Go for whichever you think looks better, you feel more comfortable driving and that feels right. What I would say is that the early S have shorter doors and narrower footwells than the later ones. I'm 5 foot 8 and have no problmes with any of them, but if you are significantly larger than me, there may be others that suggest a later S is a better one for you. That puts the cost up slightly, but at the sort of money you are talking about you still should be ok I think.

TR6 out in the rain and snow????

It's an older beasty and unless you buy one for silly money will have corrosion problems and they would only get worse. Garaged I'd say if you like one get one but outside.......

Go for something with a V8, a V8s or minimum 350 wedge.

I must admit, I did wonder about a tr6 in the rain.
Plus I am a bit larger than 5'8" so maybe an earlier S may not fit.
Wedges seem to be the popular choice...Thanks folks.

There is a nice one in the classified section but a little expensive, I will se one in the flesh first I think.
However, I do agree, the triumph six is a fantastic sound as well.

But after about 30 secs of listening to your S, your hearing vanishes and you can no longer appreciate it

Both are great. Best advice I can give is to drive them and then make up your mind. The TR is a super car and pretty bullet-proof. I've had a TR5 and a Griff, and both have their merits. Hey, there's an idea - get both!

V8S isn't in the starting line-up, so I'd vote for a late S3. I had one and it was a super little car.

Mike -i dont know how tall you are but the S3 has a longer door for easier acsess/egress

Lots of cosmetic changes too

But you'll enjoy whichever you get
