Last week, I was delighted that one of my best friends had finally met a good man, and she thought he was 'the one'.

Better still he had a Lotus Esprit V8 limited edition etc, etc.

Unfortunately he liked to show her what it could do, and last night I had a call to say he'd wrapped it around a tree, and took my friend out with it.

I know we all are bored with government tossers spouting speed kills, and it only applies to numpties, but for the grace of God go we all.

Sorry for the rant, but I'm feeling pretty low at the moment, and feel the need to say something, so just take it easy guys - you only get one shot at it.

Very sad indeed, especially when there is an innocent victim involved

Thanks for your thoughts guys, and sorry for the depressing thread this early in the morning, but I couldn't talk about it last night, and even putting it on here is helping it sink in.

I hadn't met the driver, but if he is a friend of anyone on here, my condolences to you too.

If there is a right thing to say at a time like this, I'm buggered if I can think of it!

Sorry to hear your tragic news - don't feel guilty about posting it - it's important we all remind ourselves of our mortality at times and to take extra care to respect our cars/roads/people!

Thats awful, always sorry to hear about such things, and somehow seems worse when the people involved were just starting out together.

Keep them shiny side up folks..
