Dear All

Those of you at Pistonfest on the Saturday evening may recall the auction of advertising space on my TVR Tuscan race car. 25% of the proceeds raised were to go to Cancer Research, with remainder helping to fund my debut in the Tuscan Challenge. Actually you probably won't remember as we were all pretty wrecked!!

Unfortunately, I have just been informed by the winner of the auction that they will not be able to honour their bid. Which is very bad news for me, and for Cancer Research - and is extremely frustrating to happen at the eleventh hour.

It also means that I have missed out on those other parties who expressed interest on the night but were out-bid.

So - the bonnet space on my car is available for the next three races - Thruxton this weekend, Castle Combe next Monday (Bank Holdiday) and Brands Hatch on 27/28 September.

We had a record crowd at Rockingham - 44,000 people - and Thruxton also promises to be a big one. As alweays, Sky Sports are televising each race.

If anyone is interested in stepping into the breach and getting some great exposure for their company, please let me know on 07768 987 306. Any sponsorship we arrange will include VIP access to the circuit, paddock and pits, and lots of lovely beer with the Insane Racing team - i.e. a great day out!

As a guide, the winning bid for the bonnet space was £500 - which is tremendously cheap for exposure on this scale and with TV coverage!

What an absolut bummer Andy, was it a case of someone being too bullish after a few too many beers or is there a "legit" reason? Either way seems a bit off. Rich...

This is not good news! Mark Johnston is not out due to the same problem.

I will be out at Thruxton and for the rest of the season. The cost to me personally is unfortunately huge and thus the loss of any sponsorhip is a big blow. On the flip side, any new sponsorship, however small, is a big bonus.

I don't want to comment about the company which have pulled out - it would not be fair to discuss the circumstances.
