My wife is due to get a company car in October this year. There are only 2 of them in the company that are getting company cars and she has therefore been given the chance to choose whatever she wants.

She has been given three tiers £200, £300 and £400 per month (prices have to be inclusive of VAT). I don't want her to have a typical rep car or settle for something that is guttless and has no PH value.

But I am stuck on what I can get. Does anyone have any suggestions or have had recent experience with getting lease cars to give me some advise.

Options so far are:

Honda Civic Type R £199pm
Merc CLK 230 £299
BMW 323i £399

All these are exclusive of VAT but we could put the difference in to get a decent car. I did find a 325i M Sport for £419.....................Can anyone find better?

Thanks

Malam

If she gets the option, go to a dealer rather than a leasing company and negotiates hard. I just got 22% discount on my company car plus some tasty upgrades - it seems not many people are buying new cars at the moment...

I'd have another look around wink

I doubt the company will let her / you add to the payment to "top up the VAT" so to speak...

Have you had a look at flexxilease? Can change more often then as well...

Awesome thanks for the advise.

I think that the main dealer option is probably the route the company would take due to the number of people getting cars. (there are only two of them)

There is a main BMW dealer in Warwick nr to where she works so maybe that's the best option.

I don't think she cares about the tax, but again I'm open to suggestions.

I would put the mileage down at 20K. 10K is way to low.

Read the description of the car on that link - sounds like dxb actually wrote it!

"The BMW 3 Series Saloon cannot be measured by how many miles or kilometres it can cover per hour. The BMW 3 Series Saloon responds instantly to the throttle and seeing the countryside flash rapidly cannot be measured by miles per gallon. When it comes to measuring the driving pleasure of the BMW 3 Series Saloon, the only true guide is the beat of your heart."

Do WHAT now?

thought you didnt want a gutless car? if not id get rid of the bottom 2 on your list sharpish. you should probably do some test drives too rather than just go on what sounds good on paper, as there are lots of cars in the cheaper bracket that will be much more fun and fast than one in the higher bracket. good luck with your picking.

Mummy, that seems like a very good idea.

500pcm over 3 years - 18k? They must be losing that in depreciation, surely? Sounds like a bargain to me - though no doubt the tax man would stick his oar in somehow
