Sprinting, Hill climbing, Autotests - HOW?
Discussion
www.ukmotorsport.com covers all sorts of motor sports.
There are also various forums covering different sprint championships, for example the forum for the TVRCC Speed Championship is at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/TVR_Speed_Champ/ (you might need to be logged in to Yahoogroups to see this) and there is a 'what's it all about and how do I get started' article in the competition information pack under the Files section.
Hope this helps,

Get this one either the trackday or motorsport forum
Or are you just warning people what you'll be talking about at BT&P
I know I made a boob (if I can make another one its gonna be a great day!)
Emailed ted and asked for it to be moved straight away but I think he has fallen asleep.
I went to a good hill climb event at Gurston down recently. The pictures are on my site www.more-power.co.uk
I was having a look round with a view to competing next year and everyone there was very friendly and helpful. As far as I could work out you need to join a motor club and get you race license (£30 for the year) and then the car needs to be race approved and you need a log book to track this.
Looks like good fun, first thing to do is find a motor club.
Cheers

go here www.bristolmc.org.uk and click on getting started. this is the best advice on how to start competing i have ever read (though i would say that!) honestly though, if there is a question still to be asked having read that then i'd be buggered if i could answer it.
put simply though, to sprint/hillclimb you need:
- to be a member of the organising club or a member of an invited club
- a car suitable for the class you want to enter
- an MSA non race national B license (£25-£30)
- a helmet
- a timing strut (I use two pieces of metal taped together and further taped to the bumper)
