This was just received by me in an email so no idea if "old news" or not.

Driving on the autobahn in Germany at 140mph in his BMW ,the Driver Hit a Deer...
The deer disappeared...
The driver stopped and wondered where did the deer go.......???

Surely the fact that the engine presumably cut out immediately would have been an indication all was not well? Can't understand how it has managed to make its way seemingly into the block of the engine!

The block is set quite far back, it looks the deer had a bit of an argument with the belts though

Can't see the pics at work but I'm assuming it's the same blue E46 3 -series that appeared on these very pages a few months back with bits of deer where the engine should be?

The block is a long way back.

The car is a 320d*, so the block is one of the smaller units they need to squeeze in there - the m3 has a nice big V8 and the 325's and 300's (petrol & diesel) will be straight sixes - which leaves sufficient space to, er, accomodate a dead deer.

The panel at the fron, above the radiator, with the BMW logo is just a plastic cover hiding the void.

  • Recognised because Mrs Digga has a similar motor - hence it's yet another car whose engine oil level I'm supposed to look after...

Wonder if the body of the deer has been indentified or if it's been classified as a John Doe.

Is it just me who thinks it looks like an E60 5 Series then eh? Its not an E46, thats for sure, if it is a 3 then its a new one.
