Has anyone used webuyanycar.com before? a mate at work has had a quote from them to buy his KA. He's happy with the price he's been quoted, and considering taking his car, however he is a bit unsure as they take the car and V5 and then 3-4 days later he gets the money.

Just wondered if anyone has used them, and if they do pay up the agreed price or then haggle it down again a bit more? Can they be trusted to pay up?

I understood that they go over the car and see if it matches the description you gave online, then they cut you a cheque on the spot and you get the train home

They're part of Carcraft so reasonably big supermarket. I'd assume they're fairly safe but I'd want money in my hand or an IOU before leaving the car really

Are they the outfit that agree a price then knock the fk out of it when they get the car as it's "not as described"?

I'm surprised he's happy with their price - it's usually a fraction of the real trade price and then they still haggle once you turn up with it.

They were quite straight with me, really. Quoted a good price over t'internet and, whilst they did knock it down somewhat, this was mainly because the turbo was knackered! Still got near to "market" price.

They give you a sale contract, and the money is transferred into your account within about 3 days. Once they have offered a price and signed the contract there is no further "haggling".

Having said that, I did have the chance for a quick browse around their existing stock. "Ratty" and "overpriced" do not come close.

He's been offered a new car for a good price, but needs the funds from the KA to pay for the new one if that makes sense? Doesn't want to miss the new car i think.

They're fine.

If its a car that they can shift - IE something like a KA you'll get a decent enough offer for it, once you arrive at site, they'll have a look around it and if its as described then you'll get the offer. They may try to beat you down if they find anything wrong with it.

You get the money transferred accross by bank transfer.

People trying to shift specialist cars, or stuff they have had years and kept in pristine condition are gonna get derisory offers, the cars are of no use to the company.

Cheers

They're a load of tosh, they valued mine at £2035 before i mentioned the front bumper needed respraying so they lowered it to £1700. I sold the car privately for £4600!

I got a price off them for my son's Ford Focus SE they phoned me a couple of days later,to say that they had checked with the DVLA and it turns out they say the car had two more owners than I said. I informed him that it hadnt and that i have the V5 to prove it,he said he wasnt interested as he goes off the DVLA so I asked him to fax me a copy of the DVLA report or whatever it was that he ahd got to say that.
He wouldn;t I said does that effect the price he said it does by a mere 500 to 1000 pounds i told him he could shove it uop his arse and put the phone down on him.

I'd be confident to say that almost any decent car dealer in the land would match or better the price these jokers are offering....they are that....jokers.
agreed. ring a few local small garages and im sure you will get a better offer taking it off you quickly as its a good seller, cheap to run, good first time buy etc

There a bunch of wkers, offer st pries on the internet and when you get there they bring it down some more over superfical things. I would avoid and use a better company that offers closer to market prices e.g. http://www.partxsolution.com/ or give it a shot selling privately.
