Considering replacing my Toledo 1.9TDI with one of these, a 55 plate. Any views would be appreciated!

Thanks

You might get a better reply if you post it in general gassing.

I drove 110,000 miles over 3 years in a 2004 Accord Sport from brand new. Built impeccably, but extremely dull to drive. Type Type-S is just a 2.4 version of that same car with extra toys probably.

Take one for a drive if you can, you'll see what I mean when I say "uninvolving".

ETA: I'm assuming you're referring to the 2003 onwards model?

I have one, an estate though (sorry... tourer) and i'm incredibly pleased with it. Thirsty and expesnive to tax (c. £400 next year) but i knew that when I bought it, those are the reasons it was cheap. Never missed a beat, nice to drive etc etc and its not got 2.0TDI on the back wink

Thanks guys, it's a 55 plate. The seller doesn't know what exatch variant model it is so I cannot find out about the road tax. Must I am slightly concerned about mpg!

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!bigmouth

DO NOT DO IT.....

I bought one last year (nighthawk black 2.4 type-s with grey 17's) and sold it within 12 weeks

They might look good, they might drive well if you hoon them around but my god if you get in any sort of traffic you'll think they filled the tank with kangaroo juice.

The electronic throttle is a loooooad of st, couple to that the gear ratios required to take full advantage of the Vtec and you have a car which you cannot drive smoothly in traffic.

I took it back to the main dealer and was told that they all do it!!!!

It doesnt get any better if you run it on V-power, it also doesnt fix it if you install one of those earthing kits as suggested by the other people who've had the same problems.

Also they depreciate like crazy, £3k in as many months d'oh, and they are a pain in the arse to sell.

I really cant dissuade you enough from these cars...

How much is it?

We may be able to suggest some alternatives...

If it's a Type-S, it's a 2.4 petrol, there are no other variants, and it's either a saloon or estate (tourer).

Sorry to be stupid.
If you're going to spend that much why don't you consider a A8?
