He's my best mate, so we go out to town, then he kips at mine. However, once I've fell asleep / passed out, he then drives home (about 14 miles, through Liverpool Tunnel). Done it 4 - 5 times.

Next day I tear him a new one, and he says 'Yeah, I know, I'm a nob'.

I think I might hide his keys next time, but could I report his reg to BiB so they put a ANPR flag to pull it over if being driven late at night? Or would it be best to just hide his keys?
wouldn't bother.
you're not his mum.
if he gets banned its his fault smile
other than that, pick him up and bring him over. then he has no escape.

Either keep his keys when he comes around, or don't invite him around.

No but if he wipes someone else out before he gets banned, I doubt OP is going to feel guilt free.

Don't let him in for a session unless he relinquishes his keys or even better go pick him up so the car isnt there to drive.

Amen.

Turn him in, because you can't be there to hide his keys all the time.

Hiding his keys will only cause a huge argument when he decides he wants to go home.

You have to come to an arrangement that he is included in. He has to put his keys out of his own reach, and get used to the idea that he is not leaving until the morning. Do you have a freindly neighbour he could leave his keys with, or a local shop keeper that won't be there until 8.am.

He will always justify driving home if he has the option of doing so.

Report him - what if he kills someone - do you want that on your conscience?

Report him.

Stop him driving - disable the car.

Bet you are not the only one of his friends (if he has any more) that he acts in this way with.

If he kills himself and others you'll hate yourself.

Hiding keys is babying him like some sort of toddler game.

He's adult enough to go to a pub to drink alcohol and drive a car, then he's adult enough to face the consequences.

Tell him to grow up.

Do what you think is best.

But in the meantime, perhaps tell your mate that if his drink driving leads to the harming of my wife and kids, I'll bankroll his anal violation by a 1000 bearded scotsmen.

£5k well spent.

Just tell him to do a fat line before he drives home, it balances out the booze.

Or just don't go out drinking with him.

Have ten pints and offer to drive him home. If he says no then say that he thinks it ok for him to do it himself so why not you.
