have an ask on the owners club I am sure there will either be members with a lot of knowledge near you who would help out for a pint, or specialist's who would help out.

Book it in for an MOT preferably with a decent independent and bung the mechanic a nice bottle of plonk to be extra vigilant and see what it comes back with and what his opinion is.

If you pay a Subaru dealership for an approved used car check, you will be able to go back to them if there turns out to be something wrong that they should have noticed.

If you gat a bloke from the pub to do it, there's no follow up possible in case of a problem.

I bought a BMW Z1 some years ago unseen. I arranged for the vendor to take it to a dealer, and paid them to do a check and fax me the results.

i wonder what subaru charge will have to make some calls, its from a dealer with a warranty but sometimes think there not really worth the paper they are written on so want an independent opinion. there is a couple of companys linked from autotrader wondered if people had used the likes of.
