I've got 2 possibly 3 small dents to the rear offside quarter and one slightly nearer the door just up on the upright pillar to the roof.

I'd say they look like air gun pellets as the size of the dent and the slight creasing of the paint makes it look so. The trajectory would also say that it was from behind the drivers side of centre line, and could of been done in any of the last 3-4 days.

Who the hell could do this, my thinking is kids but I live in a quite cul-de-sac and haven't been out in it for days. There's nothing on the drive either.

Now it's going to have to be repaired and painted.

Great start to the new year.

You don't park in a church car park in South Yorkshire to deal drugs, eat McDonalds and drink Carling and leaving the liter, leave used condoms, vomit and urine up the church wall and syphon stolen diesel do you?

If so, that will be one of my neighbours as he was intent on sitting in the bushes at night taking pot shots at the dealers/cutomers cars as the police seemed powerless to stop them.

Tis nothing, my wife was shot at the other day, sitting at an outside restaurant with her mate, they were both hit in the legs by pellets fired from a passing car.

Probably kids, but a dangerous thing to do here, apart from anything else there are LOTS of real guns around so the kids were running the risk of having their heads blown off. Which would have been a shame.

I came back to my van one day to find a nice round marble hole in the back window... Still haven't got a clue what I did to deserve that, especially considering the windows were replaced 2 weeks before, after they'd all been put through with bricks... I got quite friendly with the local windscreen place though!

I had a rather large and menacing hand gun stuffed in my face in the Philippines, after I hurled abuse and waved a single digit at some clown in a large black, mirror windowed Ford Expedition, when he cut me up on my motorcycle.

I never did that again. frown

I have fired hundreds of pellets at car windscreens (used to have permission to shoot rats in a scrap yard), with all sorts of different air rifles, and never been able to break a windscreen. Smaller windows sometimes broke, but rarely. Are you sure it was an air rifle?

It didn't break the screen it cracked it. The pellets looked the same as the ones I used to fire out of my .22 air rifle, I don't know of any other weapon that use those pellets. Obviously I'm no armourer so if anyone has a better idea I'm all ears

I don't doubt you, but it must have been some bloody powerful air rifle to do it. Certainly not a "legal" one. I tried with various calibres and ammo, and never got more than a loud crack as it bounced off leaving no mark?

I was driving at the time I don't know if that was a factor for increased velocity, to make it crack my screen! Mind you it was quite a rough area I was driving through so anything is possible wink
