Did you report the crime to the Police?

You can, of course, report the crime to the insurance company but not claim. I've recently had a £600 lawnmower stolen, reported it but not claimed (due to the impact it would have on my costly insurance premium).

Did you report the number plate theft to the police? If you didn't I wouldn't bother reporting it myself.
