Oil Top Up Disposable Funnels

When we had the BMW's we used to get a top up pack supplied with the car. Oddly I never used them as it was pretty easy to top up without spillage.

We have now switched to a Honda Civic diesel and whilst the car has a lot of useful design touches the washer fluid and oil top up inlets havent been thought out very well.

As a result I really need some of the paper/card disposable funnels.

Can anyone tell me where to get them from i.e is the local halfords going to sell them.

No idea, but the Tamora has a daft placed oil tank.

I fill it by decanting 33cl of oil into a small beer bottle then it is easy to get in without spilling all over the engine. It may work for you too.

place an old (but clean) cloth carefully around the filler hole. problem solved.

Or pick up an orange plastic funnel from Halfords for a fiver and chuck it in the boot.

Make a cone out of a rolled up newspaper.

its amazing howm any cars are very difficult to top up with oil.

take a smart for 2 for example - impossible, you have to hold the carpet up with one hand, and the oil filer is low and difficult to get the oil spout any where close to = spillage

I cut the top of a large bottle of water like Evian and it makes a perfect funnel, costs nothing.

For the avoidance of doubt, it's not the coke that you top up with!

No seriously, a cut-off plastic bottle is absolutely ideal for these purposes.

yep, if you keep the top you can prevent any spills too . . .
