Merc 190
Rover 200 series BRM
Old Beemer but not sure what I could get.
Peugot 205 GTi

saab 9000 with full pressure turbo. Fast, comfortable and they do about 30 mpg too. Bang on.

You'd probably get quite a nice e34 BMW 5series for that sort of money or an E36 325i!

Merc 190 is a sound choice. I'm a saab fan, but cheap saabs can be a hassle.....Doesn't have the performance of my old C900T, but I like it....

BRM is a great car. In fact the only other FWD car I've driven with comparable front end grip was an ITR. The fat 16" sports tyres, suspension and LSD make a huge difference. Pretty quick too, even compared to modern hatches.

Good advise all round i guess.

I cant go mainstream- i had a stload of critisism last time for buying a Fiat Stilo Abarth (which i adored, strangely) so need to have something with some 'character'.

Looked at an omega too, but not too sure.

Anyone for agreeing with a 1.6gti 205????

It looks favourite so far i think.

Mind you, there is always the merc
