My mates got a Vauxhall Nova that he bought at an auction for £200. After driving it about for a few months, he's now bored of it. Cue me and some mates removing the roof lining, taking it down to the local ford (the river crossing, not the car brand) and taking it off road in a mates field.
What we really want to do is make some funny mechanical mods to it, anyone got any stupid ideas?

We're already planning to turn the exhaust manifold upside down so the exhaust comes out the bonnnet.

Oh and it won't be driven on the road again so it can be illegal.

There's lots more fun to have first - we did that with a Sierra that we dismantled for a kit car doner.

I love the idea of makign the manifold come out of the bonnet yes

biggrin love the fire idea, but that comes at the end.

We're going to give it a few coats of paint tonight, matt black, stripping the interior out and spark plugging the end of the manifold for flames!

See FIRE!

Whack a mahoooosive turbo on it for funsies too. Just to see what'll happen.
Many moons ago a mate had a knackered old Clio (hateful things) and for his birthday we were going to go to Halfords, buy all the chavvy bodykit stuff we could find and liberally apply it with duct tape. He binned it the month before we could. Sad times. So do that!

N.B. I have never professed to have any kind of mechanical knowledge, so the turbo idea may be truly flawed.

Can't find the thread, but there was someone on here with a similar car (Metro I think) for disposal, they cut it in half and remounted the rear suspension to the first half of the car, was quite amusing!

I drove one with 200bhp and a dog box, shocked myself when it was killing everything in a straight line - one of the quickest, rolling start cars ive ever driven.

Car was minging though, had a big sticker in the back window saying "You;ve been novataken"

Turbo would be difficult and expensive but fun. The body kit idea is reaaly good. We were going to do it when he first got it, but he wouldn't let us. Before its unroadworthy I might get some flat cardboard boxes and give him a massive front and rear bumper, maybe a spoiler. It's amazing what you can do with cardboard and duct tape.
