One victim was a police officer.
I think this is going to end badly for the self-appointed exhaust vandal - a prominent local lentilist will be found dead; the autopsy will reveal the entire lower bowel ruptured by expanding building foam, and the local police will put it down to a tragic DIY accident.eharding said:

I was thinking exactly the same thing as I read the article, if I caught him doing that to one of my cars, he'd get his can of expanding f

That being said - as one who had possibly one of the rudest sports exhausts on a Griffith 500 after Thames Valley Racing decided that Fernhurst's initial efforts were slightly limp of wrist, and who now entertains himself with either a 6 litre flat 4 or 10 litre radial with stub exhausts and no silencing whatsoever - that, having been exiled to Slough for most of the week....that the endless convoy of s

I hear what you're saying e, what with being partial to a quality exhaust note myself. I would have thought that the NZ lot would be predominantly V8's though....?

What a bunch of miserable arses...

If anyone picks up on this in this country, and decided to have a shot on my car i would take great pride punching their face until i can punch no longer.
I pay tax and get raped for insurance for tuning my civic as i enjoy hooning a back road and generally surprising people who do not expect that kind of performance from a sub 2 litre na car, inevitably this has involved a change of exhaust, one thats quiet for day to day but sounds in it's element at 9000rpm.
I understand that loud exhausts are a bain to alot of people, but the members of PH wouldn't come and blow the offenders car up because it's boring

Here in NZ there's been a LOT of negative publicity about Boyracers lately.... they've been causing a fair bit of havoc down in Christchurch culminating lately with some riotous behaviour including a premeditated assault on a police officer including shots fired (albeit from an air rifle, although a cop was killed with an air rifle here not 6 months ago).
These events and rather lazy news reporting of it has led to a general backlash against car enthusiasts in general... anyone with a set of shiny mags and a Jap performance car (modified or not) seems to be coming under fire from all angles because of it..... we are apparently the scum of the earth.

The danger with 'vigilante justice', is that they vigilante opens himself up to vigilante repercushions. I wonder what expanding foam would do to his own personal exhaust when he gets caught in the act by someone who doesn't appreciate him vandalising thier property...
It would be poetic justice at least.
Oh and jesus, they seem to have even bigger NIMBY issues than we have!

Anyone who wants to do this, V8, or 4pot saxo, is a lowlife, quite frankly, who is more interested in themselves, than anyone else. The sort of folks that need to be taken outside and shot.
And people who rag the f
k out of their Saxos at 3am are doing it for the sake of the community?Twat.
