M1 accident, yesterday (11-02-09)

Hope it was nobody on here.
Traveling from J26 to J25 yesterday evening at approx 18:30. Hit a wall of traffic just past Trowell services. Paramedics, Police and Fire Engines using the construction lane to get past (apart from one Ambulance fighting its way though the stationary traffic. Why do people freeze in situ, like rabbits in headlites when an emergency vehicle is trying to get past? The ambulance was seriously slowed by dense folk sat blocking their path with a glazed expression on their faces!). 45 mins and 3/4 of a mile later, there was glass on the carriageway, and what was left of an MG TF in red on the back of a recovery truck. Looked like it was the only car involved. All four sides were badly damaged, so it looks like it took a spin into the barriers.
I hope it was nobody off here, and hope whoever it was received no serious injuries.
The traffic was forced into 2 lanes to get past the emergency services and the stricken car, but the second the traffic got past it, the road opened up and instant normal speeds (50 cause of road works) was resumed.
I was shivering cause my car had no heat. Not fun I can tell you. The matrix has got to be replaced.

Think you'll be ok on that one...
Still, hope the driver was ok.
