Think again...

...I know this is off topic but you're the only people I'll talk to tonight who'll appreciate this, the wife just looked at me blankly.

My boss has a Merc ML500 - on Monday he clipped wing mirrors with a BT van and Greenoaks in Slough fixed it today.

Anoyone fancy guessing how much to get the mirror (and housing) replaced? I'll wait a bit and see if anyone gets close first.

The ML500 is the 4x4 one(?) so you'd expect lost of wing mirrors to come off on trees and the wildlife must get a few, so I'm sure Merecedes would make them appropriately cheaply. £34

Parts - paint - labour - VAT - I'd say £246.75.

Well I've got a previous repair bill for mine from a TVR garage thats over 3 years ago and including painting, the mirror on a V8S (same as the griffaera one btw) was £300 .

I would guess in this day and age and knowing Mercs probably nearer the £1K mark. Am I close

£850 including the labour to fit it - £780 just in parts for the mirror assembly.

I was so shocked I actually inhaled my Coke when he told me and coughed it halfway across the office!!!

I smashed the glass on the door mirror of my Lexus 430 and just that i.e the mirror cost £208 plus fitting.

So MB are not alone in charging high prices............

That was my first thought ... that they had done some panel tidying or something but no, no paintwork was marked ... just unscrew the old mirror and drop in the new one.

As one of the few to have had the on-board computer fail in a SL500, I can certify with total authority that TVRs are EXTREMELY CHEAP to maintain.

....Ah, X,000 Francs, it's a bit expensive?
..... No Sir, thats Euros
