Women's rational thought goes out the window when shopping
German scientists say a woman's rational thought disappears when she goes shopping.
Researchers at the University of Munster in Germany said female shoppers simply lose the ability to think straight.
They measured the electrical activity in the part of the brain which deals with common sense and rational thought in female shoppers. They discovered the part of the brain governing the emotions and pleasant feelings was in overdrive, says the Daily Record.
The scientists also found men experience a similar loss of control when offered the chance to buy electrical gadgets, fast cars and computer games.
Dr Michael Deppe said it might help to explain why women shoppers were often at a loss to explain how they found themselves window shopping and the next minute spending.
He said: "The more expensive the product, the crazier the shoppers get. And when buying really expensive products, the part of the brain dealing with rational thought has reduced its activity to almost zero.''
"Bargain hunters are driven by emotional thought, not by common sense. The stimulation of the emotional centres shows that shopping is a stress relief. People do not have to think, and the brain rewards them with pleasurable feelings. By shopping, they are bypassing stress and just going with the pleasurable flow,'' he added.

So anyone here bought anything on a whim, and a) either never worn or used since or b) regretted it when the credit card bill arrives on the doormat.
I have several items in my wardrobe that never seen the light of day since I bought them.
Fish also admitted to me this morning that he was very close to ordering the new T440R after speaking to his dealer yesterday.
oooo, you shouldn't stop him Mrs Fish. That would mean you get the T350
I'm actually quite good t stopping myself buying expensive things, I just don't seem to be able to stop purchasing cheap DVD's, cheap Music...
Still, on this subject I read a review of the Ferrari Enzo driven through New York in Car Magazine (written by Tom Ford, had me pissing myself with laughter), the guy who owns it told his wife "I don't fool around. I don't drink. I don't gamble. But on any given day we might need to go and buy a new car". Proper man

Women seem reluctant to try things on in shops, I've found. So they buy, get home, it doesn't fit, so it stays in the wardrobe.
My missus says its the comunal changing rooms. She doesn't like the thought of some carpet muncher staring at her charlies when she's trying a top on.
Is this right?
PS - she also tkes a size 3 shoe. Apparently (probably some mad Euro rule), the size has now changed from 35 to 36. The latter doesn't fit her, the former does. Size 35 shoes are as rare as rocking horse shit, unless you've got a fat wad and have either Mr Choo or Mr Blahnik's home number.

Er, excuse me but "women", "rational" and "thought" in the same sentence?

Bought a Flying V one day when I was wandering down Denmark Street and it just called out from the window of Andy's Guitar Shop. Don't regret it, it's just that my ability to play the guitar is - well let's say "non-existent" !!!

I bought my first house on a whim. I was bored in town one saturday and it was raining so I went into some estate agents and checked with a mortgage advisor that it was do-able, picked up leaflets on ones I liked the look of, viewed one on monday, one on tuesday and had an offer accepted on the wednesday... made love on Sunday.
My vespa...was waiting for Mrs Windsorphil (she was pottering about for some bathroom stuff) and just wandered in to the Scooter Cafe (nice shop in Maidenhead) and came out having bought a moped!...Then had to break the news over a drink...oh, and I've ridden it about 5 or 6 times in 6 months...
