I posted this on the Ford board but haven't had a reply so I thought I'd try here..

My missus has a Galaxy, the rear wiper has packed in...I've checked the fuse which is OK,I've taken the tailgate panel off and checked the voltages to the motor...there are 3 wires..Brown:Earth...Yellow/Black...this has 12v on it and Green/Black...this has 6v on it..these voltages don't change whether the wiper is turned on or not...I'm going to change the next easiest thing..the relay...I hope it's this and not the switch...anyone any other ideas...? Could it be the motor?....Any ideas appreciated...

It's usually the switchsmile
What happens if you op the washer? (I assume it has a rear washer)

Rear wipers are op'd from switch or by the washer.

Check ground is actually ground.
If you are good with a test lamp go into the relay socket and look for voltage from switch or washers when op'd. Then short out the contacts in the socket. That will simulate an op'd relay.

Rear wiper is actuated by pushing a switch on the column forward, rear wash is op'd by pushing the same swithch further forward...ground is ground...I get the same voltages whether testing at motor connector ground or somewhere on bodywork...why are there 2 voltages at the motor? I could try checking the voltages on the relay socket..easy to get to....
