What is the Best Q Car?
Discussion
My vote goes to the VW Passat 2.8 V6 4-Motion.
Everyone assumes it is a 130bhp diesel when it comes up behind them --Ho! Ho! The reality is that the B5 version was an Audi Quattro underneath with all the bits. Audi V6 30v engine (not the similar size 24v VW one) and the full works four wheel drive system with Torsen centre diff. and full multi-link rear suspension. They even stiffened the bodyshell by having a rigid rear bulkhead instead of drop down rear seats. Performance was fantastic at 0-62 in 7.6 secs and topping out at 149 mph thanks to a slippery shape.
Best bit is the wet roadholding. The Torsen diff automatically redistributes power front to back and vice versa as required. Very few cars can keep up with it down a slippery B road.
They are really cheap to buy right now but were built to last. Have a look at the classifieds on Pistonheads.

And his classified advert has just been reduced in price
I applaud the effort made to disguise the promotion - well done sir. It's not really a Q car though is it?
I've always liked the RS2 and in fact I feel they should all be valued in excess of £20k as they are just so good, I'd suggest that people make an offer to owners while they can..........
It's not for sale.....but if you really want to offer £20k, let's talk

I imagine 99.9% of the general public would be shocked at being passed by an old Vauxhall at 175mph
Your right, most people have a complete blank expression on your face when you say you own a Lotus Carlton...
....but the ones that do know about it, well then the reaction is VERY different indeed
