Best car I have seen on the road.. a Citroen with 6 wheels
Discussion
I was driving home from Pembury, Kent and trying to filter into a lot of traffic that was going from 2 lanes to 1 when this old Citroen CX nosed into view on my right. So I let him pass so I could nip in behind, but the side of his car just went on and on like some stretched Hummer or Caddy. Damn, it had 6 wheels!
I was so amazed I almost clocked him. He had his website on the back window so I thought I would put it up on PH. What a car, what a character.

Awesome.
Get a mattress in the back - dogging a go go. Oh and THIS bumper sticker.
MAXIMUM respect to him.
He also appears to be some kind of school teacher, which makes that sign all the more brave!Get a mattress in the back - dogging a go go. Oh and THIS bumper sticker.

I also want one of those things much more than should be reasonable for something like that. I think they did a turbo version of the V6. Hmmm.....

Tissier made some 6 wheelers as Ambulances ..... see some examples of 6 wheelers here

I have seen the 6 wheeled CX a few times, the owner may be slightly eccentric?.. He appears to tow a caravan with it,,, well, I say caravan. it is actually a glider with the wings cut off!...It does tend to make you look twice, I will see if I can dig a picture out.
That is brilliant!contango said:

I see this alot in Dartford. To say the owner is eccentric is an understatement. But I still yearn for it, I would buy it in the drop of a hat if he decided to sell it!Edited by contango on Wednesday 23 September 08:12
I have seen things like these in my yoof sometimes, sort of.
They had no rear side windows, but a raised roof, roll-down shutter rear door,
6 wheels, long WB, "Hollander Service de Press" branding, french plates.
They were used to haul french press from Paris to germany,
and I mean HAUL, picking up the fresh evening papers in Paris
and bringing them over to Frankfurt at midnight,
then load german papers and bring them to Paris for sale in the morning.
1200 KM every night, that was a well-paid student job,
if you could take the stress of racing through the night, every night,
with 3 tons of newspapers in your back @ 200+ kmh....
Rumor has it that there were maserati engines under the bonnet.
Regards,
Benni
P.S.:
Before the CXs, they had 6-wheeled DSs !!

Tissier made all sorts of 6-wheelers on DS, CX, and XM Citroens (and even one SM) - vans, estates, ambulances, caravans, car transporters.

Here's his 6 wheeled creation and "caravan" going around Sevenoaks and Tonbridge.
The roundabout he goes around is in Otford where F1 driver Tom Pryce is buried .. bit of trivia there.
