Some fantastic pictures in there. It really captures the rally (even the not so nice photos).

Some very good photos there - thanks for posting the link.

No. 2 - Motor sport budgets look to be in good health!

No. 10 - Sorry but not the sort of picture I want to see.

No. 12 - Please tell me that the camera was tilted/angled - thats one hell of a downhill section!

No. 24 - Supermarket rolls!

I watched the stage last night - impressive stuff - I did years of sand driving around the Sahara in a Toyota Landcruiser which was great fun and it's surprising what you can do but the Dakar vehicles are on another scale completely.

Well, you know what to do then don't you? Get on ye bike and get down to South America and tell the quad bike drivers that they aren't hardcore covering only 9000 km on these softy quad things.
Then duck.

I think it is tilted. Look at the helichopter in the background. At an angle as well

Choppers have to tilt forwards like that in order to gain speed quickly; the pitch of the blades whilst the chopper is level is not enough to gain speed.

I'd say that pic was spot on.

Another way to verify this picture is to look at the route across the top. If the pic was tilted, that would mean that the route across the top was at 45 degrees, and that doesn't make any sense.

As it is, it's clear they drive across the top, find the route down and then pray.
