If that was the case chrome would have been on the short list

None of those options.

I'd go for a darker grey/ magnesium finish. Looks very nice, and hides the brake dust !

Black!! Black wheels for some reason just make a car look 'mean', and stand out more than the usual 'boring' alloy colours! Go black dude! You know ya wanna!

Please please please keep them standard, don't ruin another perfectly good car!

When you come to sell that car, non-standard wheels are more likely to put someone off than attract a sale. Just a thought.

Looking to do the same to my Gunmetal S2 Elise but can't decide what colour!

Either Black or anthracite I think. The dark grey / magnesium sounds interesting though Any pics?

Stuff like that suits the Elise, just not the M3

What about mirrored? Sure I've seen mirrored M3 alloys looking good

Looks classiest standard by a country mile

But if you want to go mean, then solid black or solid anthracite (see Apache's Griff)

Have them detailed very subtlely (sp?) in matching body colour like I just did recently with my OZ slots courtesy of Spit'n'Polish.
