Can't beat a drop of McCalum (sp?)

I tend to avoid the seaweedy ones Laphroig (sp? again) etc

Although for everyday gulping whisky Sainburys own brand single malt Irish is quite acceptable

I tend to go for the ones with a hint of Iodine/TCP/seaweed
Laphroaig and Lagavulin

I've defected for 'everyday' drinking to Rebel Yell Bourbon

Visit the Loch Torridon Hotel Whisky bar - where you'll find 200+ to sample, and I'll buy you one (not of each!) www.lochtorridonhotel.com/bar.html

As for my fav... well it's always the first.

I'm an Advocate of The Macallan, but I'm partial to most of the speyside malts. However, I can't stand that disinfectant they produce on the west coast islands. (sorry).

Did this deal (or similar) on the way back from Le Mans last year. Of the 3, the Tormore's the only one left in the cupboard! (and not because its been replaced )

Actually, its not that bad; just not 1st choice when there's anything better in said cupboard.

Found a new favourite recently in The Singleton from Auchroisk.

[anecdote]
took bottle and hip flask of the same on recent ski jaunt to Canada. At airport security in Vancouver on way home they spotted the hip flask in hand luggage in the x-ray. 'Forced' to drink contents of the same to prove it was a non hazardous fluid. Po-faced security failed to accept offer of shared dram.
