BMW E90 MOT - resetting the idrive
Discussion
Just a quick question here - I have an MOT centre literally 1/4 mile from my house (non BMW) which offer Sat MOT's as well as weekdays.
Question is - can I reset the Idrive for the MOT or is it a case of Main dealer only?
I believe I can reset it but not sure.
Many thanks if anyone can help

See p.71 for the CIC reset. If you are at all technically inclined (and even if not), this document is a must have for anyone with the 2009 Nav.

I dont understand what it is you need to reset for the MOT?
In your idrive under servicing everything time & milage based is listed and when its due it appears in your milage display plus it is in order of dueness under the service part of the idrive. When it is serviced at Main dealer they reset those items. However as MOT can be carried out anywhere and Im asking purely as the nearest one is so close to me vs a 40 mile round trip.

Why do you need to reset the idrive for an MOT?
For MOT you dont - I mean reset the time of the MOT so its Jan 2012 once this MOT is done rather than constantly having a warning on every start up saying "service due" (meaning in this instance the MOT is overdue).Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
