Can't stop downloading these but I challenge anyone not be singing them within 5 minutes:

Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton
From New York to LA by patsy Gallant
What Are You Doing Sunday by Dawn
Is This The way To Amarillo by Tony Christie.

Scary....

Wichita Lineman, bloody excellent....

"I am a lineman for the county and I drive the main road
Searchin' in the sun for another overload
I hear you singing in the wires I can hear you through the whine
And the Wichita lineman is still on the line

I know I need a small vacation but it don't look like rain
And if it snows that that stretch down south won't ever stand the strain
And I need you more than want you and I want you for all time
And the Wichita lineman is still on the line

And I need you more than want you and I want you for all time
And the Wichita lineman is still on the line"

"From New York to LA by patsy Gallant"
I used to love this when I was very young ( whenever it came out ).

I downloaded it last year and it has an alright tune but it is a load of crap. Good crap though.

NOOOOOOOOOOOO!

That is such a dismal song. And what makes it worse is I can never get it out of my head when I hear it (or read it now )

Who did that song 'Gloria'?

Or what about a bit of Glam Rock stuff - Sweet Blockbuster, Teenage Rampage. Or T-Rex Ride a White Swan, Brian Ferry/Roxy Music Let's Stick Together.

Laura Branigan - in English, that is. The original was Italian and by Umberto Tozzi.

The Devil Went Down To Georgia
Original Performer: Charlie Daniels Band

The Devil went down to Georgia, he was looking for a soul to steal
He was in a bind, cause he was way behind
And he was willing to make a deal

Well he come across a young man sawing on a fiddle and he played it hot
The Devil jumped up on a hickory stump
And said "Boy, let me tell you what

In case you didn't know it, I'm a fiddle player too
And if you care to make a dare
I'll make a bet with you

Now you play pretty good fiddle, son but give the Devil his due
I'll bet a fiddle of gold against your soul
Cause I think I'm better than you"

Well the boy said "My name's Johnny, and it might be a sin
But I'll take your bet you're gonna regret
Cause I'm the best there's ever been"

Johnny rosin up your bow and play your fiddle hard
Cause hell's broke loose in Georgia
And the Devil deals the cards

And if you win you'll get this shiny fiddle made of gold
But if you lose the Devil gets your soul
The Devil opened up his case, and said, "I'll start this show"
And fire flew from his finger tips as he rosined up his bow
When he pulled that bow across the strings, it made an evil hiss
And a band of demons joined in, it sounded just like this

When the Devil finished, Johnny said, "Well you're pretty good old son
But just sit down in that chair right there and let me show you how it's done"

He played Fire on the Mountain, run, boys, run
The Devil's in the house with the rising sun,
Chicken in the breadpan picking out dough,
Granny does your dog bite, "No, child, no"

The Devil bowed his head because he knew that he'd been beat
And he laid that golden fiddle on the ground at Johnny's feet
And Johnny said, "Devil, come on back if you ever want to try again
But I told you once, you son of a bitch, I'm the best there's ever been!"

He played Fire on the Mountain, run, boys, run
The Devil's in the house with the rising sun
Chicken in the breadpan picking out dough
Granny does your dog bite, "No, child, no"

It was the bit where hes sings
"and you keep it just for fun,
for a laugh, aha aha."

It somehow struck me as a kid, i thougth it was the sound of a madman?

Artist: Peter Sarstedt
Buy Peter Sarstedt's CD

Where Do You Go To My Lovely - Peter Sarstedt

You talk like Marlene Dietrich
And you dance like Zizi Jean-Maire.
Your clothes are all made by Balmain
And there's diamonds and pearls in your hair.
Yes there are
You live in a fancy apartment
Off the Boulevard St. Michel
Where you keep your Rolling Stones records
And a friend of Sasha Distel.
Yes you do

But where do you go to my lovely,
When you're alone in your bed.
Tell me the thoughts that surround you,
I want to look inside your head.
Yes I Do

I've seen all your qualifications
That you got from the Sorbonne
And the painting you stole from Picasso
Your loveliness goes on and on.
Yes it does,
When you go on your summer vacation,
You go to Juan-les-Pins
With your carefully designed topless swimsuit
You get an even suntan
On your back and on your legs.

And when the snow falls you're found in St. Moritz
With the others of the jet set.
And you sip your Napoleon brandy,
but you never get your lips wet.
No you don't

But where do you go to my lovely,
When you're alone in your bed.
Won't you tell me the thoughts that surround you,
I want to look inside your head.
Yes I Do

Your name it is heard in high places
You know the Agha Khan.
He sent you a race horse for Christmas
and you keep it just for fun,
for a laugh, aha aha.
They say that when you get married,
It will be to a millionaire.
But they don't realize where you came from
And I wonder if they really care,
Or give a damn.

Where do you go to my lovely,
When you're alone in your bed.
Tell me the thoughts that surround you,
I want to look inside your head.
Yes I Do

Ah, remember the back streets of Naples,
Two children begging in rags
Both touched with a burning ambition
To shake off their lowly-born tags,
So they try.
So look into my face Marie-Claire
And remember just who you are.
Then go and forget me forever
But I know you still bear the
Scar deep inside, yes, you do.

Ah, I know where you go to my lovely
When you're alone in your bed.
I know the thoughts that surround you,
'Cause I can look inside your head.
