Exterior looks are a big improvement to me. Whether the ‘baby’ Aston needs 650 BHP is an interesting question…..
It does really as this is £200k+ car once optioned and weighs close to 1800kg fully fuelled to EU weight standards, at that price level/weight you need the power to give it competitive performance. It'd be kept honest by a 992 GTS with 480hp on the road or track but the AM has it beaten hollow as an object of desire IMO.

I'm sure I'm going against the grain here, but am not a fan, It's not an elegant supermodel, nor a track day toy (far too heavy), and sounds like a terrible road car due to rock hard suspension & exhaust shouting all the time. So what's it for apart from Top Trumps ?
Agreed, just not sure what to think if I am honestPersonally think it is a great piece of design, interior looks like a lovely place to be now also. Would feel just at home as heading to the golf club on a saturday morning as it would on a road trip to the Iberian Peninsula. Don't know how many of these will really be seen at track days but sure the owners who do will have a great day out.
I just hope the residuals don't fall through the floor and buyers are pulled away from the arrogant Porsche centre to try a Vantage - roads will be a much prettier place with a few of these pootling around.

I'm sure I'm in the minority, but totally do not get the styling of this and the DB12. Uglier, fussier and less distinctively Aston than the original design. I even think this redesign of the Vantage possibly looks more dated than the original.
Interior is an improvement, but it's pretty forgettable. These cars are not a patch on the cohesiveness and class of the original DB9 and Vantage, in era.
I stand with you in this minority. The fussy details seem like they're trying too hard. Interior is an improvement, but it's pretty forgettable. These cars are not a patch on the cohesiveness and class of the original DB9 and Vantage, in era.
Not all Aston's are curvy DB5's , yes that is a gorgeous piece of automotive history but the 1970's brutal looking V8 Vantage is lovely too because of the aggressive muscle car aesthetic. The new Vantage is just an evolution of the latter, powerful, focused.
If Aston just knocked out modern pastiches of its back catalogue the firm would fold.

Love its looks, inside and out. Seems like a fun steer. But…
Inside, when cruising it’s noisier than a 911. Not a GT, then.
And it weighs at least 133kg (dry) more than a Roma, which is a half-decent GT.
And IIRC, Aston didn’t want to use a DCT because it would be heavier than ZF’s autobox.
So, can someone please explain how / why a V8 twin-turbo, aluminium-bodied 2-seater Aston weighs 133kg more than a V8 twin-turbo, aluminium-bodied 2+2-seater Ferrari??

This to my eyes is just absolutely stunning. I did like the previous generation though also bar the fairly average interior.
The revisions to the exterior on this model just fix everything that wasn't quite right on the previous.
The pricing however is undoubtedly going to be a sticking point. That buys all manner of competitor cars, I guess as has always been the case, but £200k fully option is a lot. Then again, Ferrari's have gone way north of that now too so it's just a sign of the times.
This + the DB12 + updated DBX should start to provide solid foundations for a bit of a turnaround in AM's fortunes hopefully.

Be interesting to see how it comes up in group tests. Wish it had some of the timeless elegance of the previous cars.
