RE: Brawn: The Impossible Formula 1 Story looks epic
Discussion
Watched all 4 episodes this evening. Some good behind the scenes footage, brought back memories of watching the season unfold.
Sure, Keanu tries to add gravitas to every question and voice over, but he still asks some good questions.
For a wider audience mini documentary, I felt it was well done.

I enjoyed it, it brought back great memories from the season and agree, some great behind the scenes footage.
I like Keanu, however I did find his whole presenting style, looking away from the camera into the distance, the fau jeopardy in his voice and the slow pronounced narrative a bit grating after a while, plus the swearing from him, I'm not a prude just it wasn't needed and felt forced and scripted.
I liked the chatting with the team bosses, Anthony Hamilton etc but by god Bernie comes across as so shifty and slimy, a horrible man that just cannot be trusted one bit, just his subtle expressions and pauses.
I see that Christian Horner has had his teeth done lol.

I had almost forgotten how nasty Bernie could be. Quite amusing when the Brawn lawyer got one over on him though when he blabbed to FOTA.I like Keanu, however I did find his whole presenting style, looking away from the camera into the distance, the fau jeopardy in his voice and the slow pronounced narrative a bit grating after a while, plus the swearing from him, I'm not a prude just it wasn't needed and felt forced and scripted.

The irony, the Brawn fairytale being shown on Disney....
But what a season, what a top bloke Ross is and will be watching it this weekend.
and what a horrible little man Bernie is
I used to wonder how Bernie Eccleston got himself into such a positionBut what a season, what a top bloke Ross is and will be watching it this weekend.

You should watch 'Lucky' - he had some bks for a little guy, not to mention brains.
Only watched Ep1 of Brawn so far, very good.

On ep3 and yes BCE is not a pleasant individual and Lde Montezeolo doesn’t come across as anything more than a bitter poor loser. You should watch 'Lucky' - he had some bks for a little guy, not to mention brains.

Very entertaining so far.
Au contraire - Di Montezemolo is the most charismatic pantomime villain of the season. And as he was the man who turned Ferrari around in the Lauda era - at 25 !- respect .
Ecclestone is the same nasty piece of work as he has been for 60 plus years in the sport . Gnomic comments, crass asides , the usual crap.

Im not sure if you’ve watched the series but he basically accused Brawn of cheating with the double diffuser and how could a team from nowhere be any good. He did not come across well regardless of what he managed to achieve with the Lambrusco squad with Lauda. At the end of the series he found some humility and praised the team for doing remarkable things in their one and only year. BCE will never changed and was still intent on making mischief with some of his comments.
Two episodes in. Forgot about the breakaway threat. Bernie is a horrible bloke. Wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him. Trying to insinuate that Rubens car wasn't the same car as Jenson's. Like a team flying Easyjet can afford to develop two different cars. Also making out that he an Moseley were like brothers, neither doing anything without the other's consent. I doubt that very much and old Spanky is dead so we don't hear his side.
Ross Brawn and all his team come across well. As does Jenson. Rubens so far, a bit prickly.

Monte is a dude. If Ferrari had thought of the double diffuser, he would of course have argued the polar opposite. But that's F1. He did it in style. He also knows Ross very well given how long he employed him at Ferrari. A man of remarkable talent and with a deeply impressive CV. And IIRC with a brother who is a cardinal!

They were thick as thieves and when the EU forced a separation of rule maker and commercial rights holder, continued to scheme together. Bit silly of Bernie to admit that on camera, but he DGAF anymore. I finished it last night too , after the Vegas , err, event . What struck me most of all was how tiny the Brawn seems compared to today's behemoths . A very good looking car too, despite Christian Horner's snippy comment about the paint job.
I will again share a theory about the livery - and I know we have at least one fly fisherman on this thread . The hi vis green/yellow which makes the Brawn so easy to spot in a field of cars is one of the most popular colours for fly lines.. Ross is a very serious angler indeed , and even has his own stretch of chalk stream .So I think it was his idea and this is why .
We should be told ... .

I've read it elsewhere were people have said the Brawn was a great looking car, I think it was awful, all cars of that era were awful and oddly proportioned with their small rear wings and massive front wings, the wheel trims were dreadful too. The Brawn livery was dreadfully dull and boring too, I think some people just get swept up with the whole feelgood story, not seeing any negativity in any aspect of it.
