Do these fitted garage type companies not end up really expensive compared to uning a moderate kitchen units?

I'm still waiting on a reply to my enquiry on concrete polishing........

I did a Dura quote once, it came to more £'s than the value of my two cars...!
I used Big Doug in the end...

Dura prices are known to be pretty outrageous, very top end. There are other garage companies out there with sensible prices to save you having to resort to BigDug.

Any suggestions on more reasonable places?

when I post pic of mine the first time someone suggested I should start manufacturing the cabinets, has to be a business opportunity there for someone with bigger facilities than me

I'll be starting on my new garage soon, only just bought the house and garage, it's in a state though, any suggestions on what I should do with it are welcome.
It has an outside oil storage tank at the back for an oil heating boiler, I'll be removing this tank, then I should have enough space to make a tool room or an office.

What's your budget? I'd probably have a thin insulated layer and board up the walls, then paint everything, tile the floor, and get a good workstation going in the corner. How many cars do you want to keep in it on a permanent basis? Doesn't look particularly suitable for keeping two and expecting breathing room.

It would only house two cars, nothing else, I have another out building for all the other stuff. I want to have, good lighting, a built in dehumidifier, heating, and a better tight fit on the doors, I will replace I think. The Elise and Mini will go in there easy. £2k budget.

If it was me the first thing I would do would be to stick a RSJ above the doors and install a single door. That way if you ever to work on a car you can stick it in the middle without shunting back and forth

Good point! nice one, it must be a cheaper way too, rather than two doors and two costs.

Budget, vapourised............

£2k leaves you basically in the middle of 'a bit of a tidy up' and 'doing it properly'
so you are either looking at £200 paint and a brush or a bit of saving up.

+1 for the RSJ. Roller shutter door then 4 post lift in the middle. You'll still get 2 cars in with plenty of room either side. (assuming the the ceiling can come down). Great potential though!

I'm not a fan of 4 posts, take up too much room and restrict your work access. Get a wee scissor lift and keep the roof for storage.
