Was that taken with or without the keys? I thought they had fixed that problem? I'm only round the corner from you so will keep my eyes peeled

It was taken without a key !!

How can it be stolen without a key ?? It's a brand new vehicle with top security !!!

Keep an eye on it for me please - thanks

"Top security" -> not if the key is bladeless.

Will keep an eye out but expect this has already been shipped / stripped.

Laptop in the diagnostic port I'm guessing I had friend loose his 335d the same way 18 months ago, he was in France with the keys at the time! Its why I didn't buy an e90 3 series a few years ago, I got an e46 instead as it had a 'proper' key. Guy next door to me had his Audi A5 go same way last year

+1

I've avoided buying BMW's for the last few years because they are stupidly easily to break into and my car wouldn't be garaged.

I think it's gone for good then I'm afraid frown

We had about 5 BMWs go missing from the works car park about a year / 18 months ago when it was all the rage. They recovered 2 of them because they'd been parked not far away. They were both M3s and the carpet was pulled up on the drivers side, presumably looking for a tracker etc. They leave it for a while and if it isn't recovered they carry on with the stealing process, safe that there's no tracker fitted. fkers.

Maybe there is something wrong with me but what's the big deal?

If you are insured there is nothing to worry about. It's not s rare classic and never would be.

If I had my daly driver stolen I wouldn't want it back. They would be welcome to it and I would find a new one.

Because it's loads of hassle and not nice, it's hardly a nice experience even worse if they have been inside your home
Especially for females
Hope it's sorted quickly op and the scum are strung up

It sounds like you are not aware of BMW's security.

It can't have got far given that its a 116d...

In seriousness, it's a horrible thing to happen and BMW should be ashamed of the vulnerability of these cars to theft.

My wife caught 3 young scrotes coming up our drive at 2am the other week while I was working away, one armed with a knife.
Luckily they scarpered quick smart when they realised somebody was in.
We live in a tiny village where nothing much happens but I have a 335i with all the Performance parts fitted sitting round the back of the house which the police reckon they were after, ironically if they had come to the door and demanded the keys I would have happily handed them over with the recent problems Ive had with the thing!
