Key thing is the person who owns the car likes it, whether others think something else is better is irrelevant. A lot of people feel more emotionally invested when they have modded a car and naturally may view things through rose tinted glasses, but It doesn’t matter. Enjoy what you have in good health and keep smiling.
This is definitely the right way to go about it/look at it for sure. beer

My slightly modded 370Z Roadster is a properly marmite car for example as well(in regards to looks/it isn't the Coupe version/it weighs about the same as the moon etc etc), but that doesn't stop me loving/enjoying it though. Buy what you like and be happy as you say. thumbup

I quite like the 370Z but they were never that popular?

Yes and they were/are properly marmite as you say. I think they fall into the trap of not being either a sports car or a proper GT car though. Plus my missus always banters with me saying that she has handbags more expensive than my 370Z! hehe

So they also have a perception of being a bit cheap and nasty with them "only" being a Nissan I think too. In saying all that...I do still love the thing though. smile

I think the 350Z suffered from similar as well, but just not quite as much as the 370Z though.

I definitely can't argue with that! biggrin

Only 268Ib/ft of torque in something that weighs around 1600kg...certainly isn't getting you anywhere fast that is for sure! hehe

I'm off to price up either a turbocharger or a supercharger as we speak...driving

Kia EV6 GT

And so much better than a Tesla M3P

https://www.pistonheads.com/buy/listing/16562854
Pretty sure I see the EV6 GT getting beat in drag races by the Tesla Model 3 Performance on YouTube.

Can get the Model 3 performance for £22-25k while a EV6 GT is a good bit more needing £40k.

What’s makes the EV6 GT so much better especially for near double the money?

Edited by CG2020UK on Wednesday 15th May 14:35
I think off the line there is little in it but M3P just has the edge as it is lighter. EV6 GT generally faster accelerating once they are moving.

I looked for the EV6 GT closest to £50k (for the purposes of this post) that I could find and it's nearly new - pretty sure a £22-25k Tesla is going to be much older.

The EV6 is just a much better place to be. Better built, better tech, faster charging, better battery cooling when using the performance etc.

I had a Tesla M3P for 3 years before getting my EV6 GT and no way would I swap back!

Some really weird people on here. Getting mad that a sorted 140i would be just as quick if not faster that most of the list. Then bash said poster comparing it to the new “mapped 335d is the quickest car ever”.

This is titled “fastest for £50k”, not fastest track car, not best handling car, not fastest best spec’ed car.

I assume it’s if you line up on a 2 mile runway, what gets to the end fastest.

Anyway. For outright speed I’d be buying a gen 1 hayabusa building the engine and strapping a large turbo to it. Forget the list, you would be embarrassing a lot of hyper cars. All for £20k or less.
lol who’s irate?! The comments were more:

- Fast has many metrics
- nowhere does it state 2 mile runway
- a 140i isn’t the same car in feel as a M3 regardless of mods
- these cars are out of the box fast and drivers cars
- if we’re talking ‘modded and fast for 50k’ not sure 140 would get a look in
My comment was simply you could go faster for half the £50k in a M140. Then people lost their minds that it’s impossible and because a M3/ GT4 etc has better steering feel that means it’s faster and can’t be slower than a 1 series.
If it was modded for £50k so I had another £25k to spend on a M140 I’m sure you could create something mighty impressive like a full blown time attack car that really would slaughter the whole list!
It’s just fun chat and comparisons people don’t need to get so defensive about what they’ve spent their money on laugh
And ‘feel’ doesn’t mean fast, the slowest caterham will have better steering and chassis feel than 99% of cars but it’s not fast.
Maybe we change the thread to ‘cars with best driver feel and engagement and reasonably brisk for £50k’ laugh

Lol - I’ve no doubt that your 140 with a remap is faster in a straight line than my 981 Spyder or 911. Much. I don’t feel remotely threatened by that. Or that a 140 can be had for £20k or so. But I really think that despite the use of the word ‘fast’ , that wasn’t really the point of the article!
This article is about fast aspirational / desirable cars. Not modded M140s etc. There’s no need to read the title so literally.
