Who else is getting their Summer cars out?
Discussion
I had the 911 MOT'd before it went to sleep in October. That way I could fix anything needed during the winter. As it happened it passed with flying colours then when I took it out to blow the cobwebs off on the first nice day a power steering line failed. Fixed now and ready to go.
This year will also be the first full year of the 205 being on the road after a full nut and bolt restoration that's taken me forever.

What car is it?
I had to do the chassis legs on my Evo, over £4k bill but no way was I ever scrapping that car.
It's a MK2.5 MX5 so the cost to repair is almost half of the vehicle value. Not quite decided if I have enough sentimental attachment to bother fixing it either, as a standard car it's not that much fun imo.I had to do the chassis legs on my Evo, over £4k bill but no way was I ever scrapping that car.

NB MX5?
Yep just a MK2.5 MX5 Sport, slowly bought up all the parts to turbo it over the last year so pretty gutted to find out it's beyond economical repair. Yadizzle1 said:

Even though it was built by "professionals" I'm finding plenty to keep me busy. The bloody wheels weren't even balanced and the mapping was dreadful.

I had 2 of them I had to sell as parts cars. A 10th anniversary and a vvt. Chassis legs were repairable on both but the bigger issue was the rust everywhere else. I'd of been half way in to the floor to get clean steel to weld new sills. Inner front wings were completely gone to the point I could poke my finger through them.So annoying the bodies are so bad on them.
This has just been promoted to daily driver, as my usual daily driver has just thrown a wobbler on the driveway and is now immobile...
Tax and MOT exempt, although I spent a lot of time during February working on it, easing it out of hibernation and sorting a number of small jobs left over from last year. It’s been out several times this month, although mostly just mundane trips to the supermarket and the like.

In their defence, they weren't expensive new and they are now 20 - 25 years old. They have survived in better numbers than any other 90s car I can think of, the big difference is tht nobody much cared when their clio/escort/focus/megane dissolved but people don't want MX5s to die.So annoying the bodies are so bad on them.
