I prefer the original as well (lucky as I’ve got one!)

The depreciation means that if you can’t it won’t afford a new one then a 2 year old one at £40k with 5 years warranty left is a bargain, it’s a win-win.

(I put front ppf on mine from delivery as the paint is certainly quite soft.)

For the record I’ve had 0 faults in 18,000 miles. It hasn’t needed any servicing yet, it’s due a first brake fluid change at the 2 year mark. How many 0-60<3.5 sec cars need that little attention?

It's the same story on any Facebook Group, for any product, be it a car, bike, camera, toaster....

Who joins a group to post something is working good smile

Amazingly they have somehow made it look worse. It reminds me of the aliens in Attack the Block.

I can understand why they have done it, to create a stronger link with EV9 \ EV3, but I think I preferred the pre-facelift.

Hyundai have allowed the IONIQ 5 and 6 to look very different, so I'm not sure it's essential to have a shared "design language".

The slightly larger battery is always welcome, would have been nice if they added a control wheel to the nav perhaps?

I'm in a GV60 at the moment, and it's a such a well engineered and nice to use item, I may well "limit" myself to another E-GMP car next. A used EV6 is high on the list.

We're starting to get a few of these in the paint shop. They're just a little bit bigger than they should be to these eyes smile I'd say they're comparable in size to an Audi Q5, slightly smaller than an RRS, but up close they look rather clumsy and slab-sided due to the underfloor battery. I think the Ioniq 5 is better resolved, but I'd have an Ioniq 6 over either of them.
The paint quality (or lack of it) is a common complaint on the fb group.
Had mine just under 6 months and it’s got 2 bad chips on it already. It’s not standing up well to car park dings, which is an issue as it’s fkin huge and mine spends its life in hospital car parks.
Are you repairing accident damage mainly or touching up parking scrapes etc?
We do anything to do with prep and paint, from small panel repairs to bare-metal resprays; no metal work or accident damage though. I've got a little thread running featuring some of the more interesting cars we get in over in the Bodywork and Detailing forum if anyone's interested smile

The paint on Kias and Hyundais certainly isn't up to the standards of Mercedes or - believe it or not - newer Peugeots and Opels (they're really good), but it's better than Tesla and simply leagues ahead of the Chinese manufacturers. Strange, because Tesla quality generally seems to have improved a lot since we started getting Chinese-assembled cars here in Europe smile

I might be biased but I really do think the original front end looks better. Good job as I only got my GT few weeks ago.

Mr Blobby has a second attempt at designing a car.

It is the car you can imagine Kier Starmer would buy, about as interesting as collecting manhole covers like his predecessor.

I have had the GT model for 15 months. Zero problems so far.
A great design for the original and a marvelous thing for covering ground quickly and easily.

Not sure I like the facelift quite as much though......? A bit like a movie sequel - rarely as good as the original?
