I must be getting old because I think those wheels are too big.
Agreed - I must be older still, as I feel i'd rather just get an 850CSI! I don't think that the (relatively) revvy nature of the S62 would suit the chassis aswell as the S70b56 - attractive though it may be, the 8 series is definitely a 'tourer' as opposed to anything sporting or athletic. Looks a well done conversion though aside from those revolting wheels.Type R Tom said:
As lovely as it looks, I'm struggling to see the point over restoring a standard one.
I think it's how one values a manual plus another 100+ bhp. And presumably it's a refreshed car (doubt it's a full on rebuild). Still, sub 30k gets an excellent, low mileage automatic 840Ci, horses for courses I suppose.Personally, I reckon the wise money goes on a 850CSi.

The wheels are def too big. And I would keep the V12, it's what makes this car... just make it bigger for more power. M70/73 can be enlarged to 6 litres of displacement.
I'm with you I think too. You can get loads of cars with V8 engines, but not so many with V12's though. So I'd prefer the original engine left in, but with some tweaks/upgrades to it as you say. theicemario said:
Awful, awful wheels. M badge on the back bit naff as well
My thoughts exactly. Smaller wheels, deeper tyres, and remove the "//Middle Management" badge. They're so prevalent these days the wife is thinking of removing the //M badges from her Z4MC so it stands out from the crowd.Gassing Station | General Gassing | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
