Does this count as a sleeper?

I bought this last week, it's a Saab 9-3 (obviously) but has the 2.8 V6 turbo and four wheel drive. Bit of an odd spec as it's not a Turbo X but is 99% the same but from the outside there is no mention of the engine or drivetrain just Aero on the bootlid. Wheels and grills were a styling pack but again an option.

Not mega power with 280bhp but I think it's very subtle and 295lbs-ft gives it bit of punch like diesel but with more revs.

A basic remap would see 320bhp and nearer 350lbs-ft.
I would say the 'not mega power' bit is the issue here. Looking at that car... I would not be at all surprised to hear it had around 280hp from the factory.

You wouldn't and I wouldn't. Wpukd the average person be a bit surprised? Maybe. I'm pretty sure most people think Saabs are just slow slow old oddities Hahaha

Bringing back some memories. I had a couple of fast Saab 9000 aeros. One was in that burgundy red they did, faded really badly and looked like an absolute bag of st. Best part of 400hp surprised a few people. Bit torque steery even with a fancy LSD though.

Skoda estate looks fast, would expect it to be fast.
600bhp fast?
Exactly. To the casual observer and the uninitiated it looks like a pretty ordinary Skoda estate with slightly bigger than standard alloys and painted calipers. Even if I thought vRS, I wouldn’t expect 600 bhp.
I would actually be expecting moderately modded Golf R type power if I saw somethIng like that, but not as high as 600bhp.

Not the fastest thing in the world but I'd say most would be surprised when this thing sets off from the lights

More interested in the Capri .... can you create a thread purely about that one, please?
(Neither car belongs in this thread, IMO.)

I would expect the Aston to be fast anyway. I wouldn't say it's a sleeper.

Now that Capri, that's far more interesting than the Aston.

Definitely, but then I suspect I’m one of the few here on PH that isn’t a fan of the AM’s looks.

Aston Martin you say?

Sleeper you say?

Nay, nay and thrice nay.

Maybe you know that though.
