anyone been lied to by a used car dealer?

Has anyone been lied to about repairs that were carried out prior to sale or had a bad experience with a used car dealer??
The slow puncture on the car i bought had apparently been sorted, 200 miles later it was quite flat so got it looked at and it had never been sorted at all and cost me 20 quid. The dealer flat out lied to my face it had been done.

When I was test driving my current car I mentioned to the wife (sat in the back) "shame it doesn't have heated seats" the sales guy piped up "Oh, that's a dealer fit option Sir, it's only around £300 to have it retro fitted". I gave it a 90% chance of being total bullst, but I let it slide.
Sure enough, to heat the seats in my car it would be easier to just run it down the production line again than retro fit them...

I thought they all lied?
I've bought 2 cars from dealers in the last 12 months.
One told me they had replaced a faulty fuel gauge and regassed the AC, they had done neither.
The other told me the car had Bluetooth, turns out the satnav had been retrofitted and not only did it NOT have Bluetooth, but the GPS antenna on the roof was a stick on fake and there wasn't even any wiring for a GPS antenna behind the head unit! (I still have to drill a hole in the roof to fit an OEM one)
Also the iPod connectivity was faulty, luckily got a replacement control box on eBay for £20.
Don't trust any of them is my advice.

I went into a dealer to buy the mrs a new (to her) car and wanted to part-ex a vehicle but the dealer didn't know I wanted to part-ex at that point. Found the car I liked and asked if it had been in accident at all, "no we don't ever sell repaired cars, all of our cars are HPI clear". Said I would take the car and took him to see the mrs' peugeot 206 that had been in a slow rear end shunt with a bent front wing and cracked front grille. He offered me a good price and I thought based on what he said he would auction it. Fast forward a month later it's on his site for sale at a large amount more than what he paid me for it. I have no problem with the fact he repaired it and was asking a lot more as in the condition it was in after being fixed it would be worth that much. It just made me laugh that he said he didn't sell repaired cars.
I'll post you the service book.......
That'll be fixed before sale....
<Insert long tedious story about how the car was owned by family member and how lovely the family member was> When in fact they bought from auction to sell on...
They all do that sir....
All small cars have bad brakes....
Yes of course this is the 16v/130bhp/high power model (when it isn't according to the log book AND CHASSIS NUMBER)...
I think the last owner "CHIPPED" the engine as this one is TOO FAST....
Yes all cars come with a warranty and EVERYTHING is covered....

1st time we bought a Smart roadster and test driven one. Exhaust sounded abit too vocal and offbeat. As it was raining I didn't get on my hands and knees to look thoroughly underneath the back end. Not knowing Smarts and rear engined small capacity cars, took this as a given.
Dealer said its been checked over and given a full bill of health by their technicians. We brought the car, only for weeks later still to still be annoyed my the exhaust noise (it hasn't stopped raining for a month!). Took it to a local garage who put it on the ramps and lo and behold - a whooping 2" rusty hole in the exhaust.

I spotted a LC Amazon at a distant Toyota dealer.
Emailed them for a few pictures, etc. It had clearly been owned by an "enthusiast" and sported a number of tasteful non-standard items.
Got this response.
"You will need to be quick on this Amazon, we now have other Toyota Centre's calling about it.
If you know about these cars you will have no hesitation in putting a reservation deposit on it , and the car is yours subject to viewing & rest drive. Call asap if genuinely interested."
Surprisingly, it's still there two weeks later.
