2000-2002 polo gti, any good?

Seen these for sale before now seem to be a reasonable price, potential cheap run around, anyone had one?

Just the one? Knew these were quite rare but someone must have an opinion. What's the tax/insurance like? It ok ok fuel?

Yeah I'd read about gearbox, do you think I should be looking for ones that have had a new one already?

Is this the same engine as the Lupo gti?

Yeah Lupo GTis are supposed to be good but they still go for about twice what these polo gtis go for and the polos seem to have a good spec, remote CL, xenons, A/C, heated seats etc.
