To stop people moaning about 'stanced' cars appearing in the 'decently modified' thread.

This thread is not here to discuss why this type of modification is the work of the devil, purely for the like minded to share photos/links to great build threads.

I'll kick it off with a few...

I really dont understand this craze. Is it supposed to look like the suspension has collapsed?
Yes, aesthetics rather than performance.

Why?
Can someone explain why cars are being humiliated in this way?
Some of these cars look like they’ve broken.
Stretched ties look like a rectal prolapse.

But the worst thing of all is that many of these cars, some of them once great driving machines, have had there handling fcensoredked and are, in their current state, much diminished, if not out right useless.
Useless except for one thing of course, making their owners look like fad following fcensoredckwits.

I’m sorry about this cars. I know this is not what you wanted when you rolled off your respective assembly lines and I feel your pain. Some people have very peculiar taste. Hopefully you’ll have better luck with your next owner. They might actually be a car enthusiast. We’re not all bad. Please try to forgive. Must of the damage is probably fixable.

I do apologise to all. Nothing personal. It was in me and had to come out.
All IMHO of course.

Please carry on…
Fair point, I didn't really want this thread to be a place to bash this type of modified car.

I will point out I love performance cars, barges, saloons, coupes, estates even the Suzuki cappuccino. I love almost all cars. At this point in my life I find myself enjoying the work people go to, to create these cars. Ask me 5 years ago what I thought about a 'stanced' car, I would be gobsmacked, disgusted, repulsed. Point is, times change, people change, tastes change.

This, is probably the Max-Power of this generation and I am sure next generation will have a new type of modification to do their cars, If they are attainable by that stage.

You may hate these contraptions people have come up with, and sure they will handle like st, they wont be as compliant as an average car. But that is completely missing the point.

I respect your opinion, however I do not respect the comment about how we are not true car enthusiasts, that is quite offending, frankly.

So please, if you want to stick around and cringe as more pictures are posted, be my guest but please don't assume that the people who enjoy these cars are not true car enthusiasts.

So if I'm understanding this right, "stanced" = "collapsed suspension".

With the exception of the BMW a few posts in and a couple of the 911s, most of these look awful.
Pretty much, with the exception of Air ride kits and hydraulic suspension, which are completely adjustable.

It's a way of expressing peoples taste, preferences and so on.

Would you rather young men driving like absolute lunatics on the public road endangering innocent members of the public, or spending time with like minded friends on a driveway tinkering about have a laugh and a joke, occasionally going to a car show to be proud and show off what they have achieved?

Give over. To infer that all drivers who don't get the 'chance to stance' are out driving like madmen and that all those who decide to ruin their ride, handling and more than likely safety are driving demi-gods is stupid.

My car isn't 'stanced' and I'm not out 'driving like an absolute lunatic'. Equally I've seen shocking driving from people in cars with daft modifications.
To be fair you are right, back fired a bit that.

Silly question.

I also think starting a topic by saying "I think this, and nobody better dare disagree with me" is hardly the act of a gentleman.
I hope I'm not confused but I cant see me saying that or even implying it.
