Driving a Manual

So, right foot on the accelerator pedal (fully depressed because you're a driving God).

What do you do/are you supposed to do with your left foot?
I find myself slightly depressing the clutch with it (although sonetimes i find myself left foot braking) whilst accelerating, I'm not fully sure but i think this is bad because it may cause extra wear or the clutch?

I kind of realised it was all bks when i proof read but posted anyway

When i said depressing the clutch i meant having my foot hovering over it slightly touching it

I have very limited driving experience
