can anyone help ?
the wife is coming out of the company car scheme so is having to start insuring her own car again. She has not had insurance in her own name for 3 years but has had 3 years claim free on the company car and about 8 years as a named driver on my cars and about 9-10 years in her own name before going into the scheme.

she is finding getting reasonable quotes quite difficult roughly double what it is for me on the same car.

anyone got any ideas on what she can do to get the quotes lower at all ?

She is already getting NCB. She has not had any claims. If she did, her insurance would be higher as she would have to declare them.
Since she does not have claims, she does not have claims to declare and her insurance is lower as a result. Therefore the NCB is already applied.

NCD is a different thing entirely and it's pretty much insurers discretion whether you get it.
ok i get that but its a bit of a pisser when i can insure an ls430 for less than she can insure an A2 !
