Had a no-fault accident back in November - low speed on an icy road was rear ended into a hedge

Claim is now all settled (same underwriter, same insurer) and closed down with my car repaired

Just had a call from a Leeds number with a lady saying "they work with the insurance underwriters to make sure that insurance companies are looking after their customers and are part several industry schemes"

she knew the details of my claim (car make, description of the accident, who was at fault)

I flat out asked if they were a personal injury specialist - "no not at all - we are here to make sure that the insurance companies are doing their job correctly and looking after the driver and vehicle"

sounded suspicious told her that I was fine, all was sorted - "are you sure you are o.k. and didn't suffer any stiffness in your neck, tiredness or any anxiety?"

oh o.k. .... you are starting to sound like an injury claim company "Nope - I wasn't injured or traumatised" - she then said "well the other driver is claiming back, shoulder and neck injuries from the underwriter against you" - o.k...introduce the "well the other guy is getting money"...... good luck to him but I was fine

She then said "well if you aren't willing to speak to a specialist to confirm any personal injury I will have to send your £6000 back to the insurance underwriter" - oh now that is just bks, flat out lying

Told them they definitely sounded like a personal injury outfit and hung up - what a bunch of aholes, sounding like they are "from the underwriters" and already had allocated compensation I just had to accept it - the more worrying thing is that the insurance company had to have given them all my details... driving up their own "costs" of a claim

With these kind of sales tactics I'm not surprised people just accept the payout! Anyway .... did my bit and told them not to let the door hit them on the arse on the way out!

Is this a normal tactic from these kinds of outfits? Anyone else been badgered after an insurance claim?

I can understand some value in these firms if I was injured but even telling her I was fine the response was that this was no barrier to getting compensation for personal injury.... wtf
