Estate Sleepers

I really fancy getting an estate car for various personal reasons. I will be looking to spend about £12k but cant decide on what to get, It needs to be quick, not to brutal on fuel and still fun to drive.

I really like the S4 but dont really want another car that does 20mpg like my old Impreza did. I was for ever at the petrol station

Any suggestions??

Thanks for all the input, some great suggestions. Some I have already considered and others have caught my eye.

PS Al, as for your RS2 I can definitly say that fits the bill but if Tom is telling me the truth his struggles to get over 10mpg on a PH hoon!!
