So I went to s2000 4 u a couple of days ago as I have just sold my 911. After much thought I decided that I wanted either a Honda s2000 or a Nissan 350z. This place is fairly local to me so my partner and I took a drive over there to have a look at their stock, maybe test drive a couple so we could make our minds up as to which car we preferred. Providing they had a car we liked we planned to pay in cash there and then and take the car away. So we arrive at s2000 4 u and are both pleased to see about 6 Hondas and 2 350z's.(Despite them having about twice this number on their website) We have a look inside both types of car and decide that we would like to take the Honda out for a spin. I have heard about the engines in these cars and wanted to see if I liked it as much as I had been told I would. I approached the salesman (who was stuffing his face with food) and asked him if I could take one out (I didn't care if he or I drove it). His reply... "We dont do test drives unless you know which car you want" I asked him how could I possibly know what car I wanted until I had test driven both. He just looked at me with a smug grin across his face. Needless to say the other half left post haste! I did first however tell the salesman that he had, "lost a deal". He just stared at me. Anyway, no problem, I bought a Nissan yesterday for 11k privately and am very pleased with it. I just wondered why would a car sales garage behave in thios manner? Surely it is not condusive to actually selling cars?!?
Now I understand the rules surrounding the naming and shaming of companies but I am only telling people what happened. Has anyone else encountered this attitude at this garage or indeed anywhere else?

I understand that they have to eat, but whilst talking to a customer??? Newsreaders have to eat, but they don't do it at the same time as presenting the news for god's sake. There is a time and a place.
