Finding the perfect sleeper

I'm about to buy a C32 AMG estate. Debadged. 354 bhp and 450Nm of torque yet looks like a fairly standard Merc.
Have to say that will be mouthwatering.Debadged cars are great in my opinion. All about being subtle. The only one I would avoid are the Bimmers. Those pretending to be M3s etc

I want you guys to find the perfect subtle car.
It has to be one where you pull up alongside and think it has nothing going for it...yet it is hiding a 400BHP engine under its bonnet. My friend has a Van with 300BHP.
Add links to any you guys find.
I've got a question. What do you consider a sleeper to be?It has to be one where you pull up alongside and think it has nothing going for it...yet it is hiding a 400BHP engine under its bonnet. My friend has a Van with 300BHP.

I ask because I don't see how most of the cars posted in this thread can be sleepers
Merc, Jag, BMW, Audi, Lexus and many others all sell expensive prestige cars. They all also sell a variety of quick and very quick ones. So considering this none would be a sleeper as there is that expectation that they should be quick anyhow.
Surly a sleeper should be something a lot faster than it should be. Maybe something like a modded MX5. If you are able to stick with a new Porsche 911 upto triple figures in a straight line I think it has much more clai
at being a sleeper than a debadged big ass Merc saloon.
Am I the only one to see it this way??
You're right though mate
The MX-5s, old Golfs etc are the cars I am looking for. The ones where you don't have to spend a great deal of money in acquiring a standard one, which means people easily dismiss it.
I have to say, however, that the Passat is a great, great shout.
Keep thinking guys...
Going on with my enquiries for best sleeper...
A man at the local reckons you could fit a Golf Gti or maybe even an R32 engine into a Polo. Could you actually manage that?
If so you could consider the little chav cars like the Fiestas with a Focus ST engine in it...
If any of this is possible in the first place...
