Anyone been?

Mrs V8 has suggested that a trip out to the show this March might be a good birthday pressie. Is it worth travelling that far for 'just another motor show', or is the Geneva gig something better?

Very easy to get to, you don't even have to leave the airport to get to the exhibition centre. I'd say its worth it if you manage to get cheap flights.
We have Easyjet to thank!!!!

They smashed the monopoly of the big players - I can remember a certain airline wanted £350 return, or £200 but Sat night must be included. That was back in the 1980's.
I'm flying with Swiss out of London City airport for £140 incl. No hassle, some frills, highly agreeable price.

Amazing isn't it?

I just bought two adult tickets for 28CHF - £8.75 each!

How much is a UK motorshow? Even the PH Show is £29 per person!

Why are we always so royally ripped off at every opportunity in this country?

Slight resurrection of this thread....

I hope all these people who organised their trips to this year's Geneva Show following the OP's thread will have a fabulous time. All these official pictures released in last few weeks whetted a number of appettites!

I am leaving for Geneva tomorrow (Monday 1st March)
Even the OH is looking forward to it, which can't be a bad thing even if the two cars on her 'list' are the DS3 Racing and the RCZ hehe

Andrew,

Did you eat there? Any recommendations?

I'm also loathed to get any Swiss Francs, as the chance to use them after will be limited. Can I survive on Euros/Credit card do you think?
I ate there. I wasn't impressed; the bolognese penne cost CHF 16:- (that is £10)eek

A Walker's bag of crisps? 90p. Bounty bar? £1.20 eekeek
Don't go to Tenerife then - nearly 5 Euros for a long tube of Pringles among a plethora of other-worldly pricing.
Choccie bars - Mars, Twix, Snickers etc - in a vending machine at Epernay railway station (just a quiet, rural station) were two Euros a piece.

Sounds like Geneva's a bargain smile

Love the colour scheme on the Porsche.

I put a write-up and a few pics here too.
