Audi R8 Wears Porsche Colours

Lurid GT3 paintjob gives tuner R8 a unique look

Is it because I is green?

Is it an act of sacrilege to paint an Audi in Porsche GT3 green? We’re not sure, but this MTM tweaked R8 will certainly stand out in a crowd.

The Porsche paint job serves to accent a package of black carbon aero parts added by MTM, including a front splitter, sill extensions and rear diffuser. There’s also a set of 20ins forged alloy wheels that add to the track-inspired effect.

To make sure the R8 has the grunt to match its go-faster looks, MTM has added a kompressor that lifts the 4.2-litre V8’s power from 420 to 560bhp. Torque is up by a third to 580Nm according to the company’s figures.

MTM R8 makes a claimed 560bhp

MTM can also offer R8 owners a new exhaust system with black ceramic-coated tailpipes and an adjustable suspension system that allows you to raise or lower either end of the car by 40mm for speed humps and parking ramps.

The company will also provide a kit to boost Audi’s V10 engine to 560bhp, but this is done with an ECU upgrade and extra hardware isn’t required.

Quite a nice car in a bloody awful colour! It doesn't even look good on the Porsche IMO. The upgrades look ok, but how much are they? MTM have never been known for their value for money, just good (and usually expensive) stuff.

Possibly, all those green people could take that as a personal insult.

Although they do spell it with a 'k' and not a 'c' like zee Germans do.

Surely given that the article is written by a fine British chap, and not just put through an online-translator, it should be 'supercharger'?

Nice, not sure I would be brave enough to go for that colour though. The 560 bhp V10 version should be amazing.

997GT3RS green isn't called "Viper Green". It's just called "Green"...

The Porsche colour palette from years gone by also includes Lime Green, Signal Green and of course Viper Green.

In my opinion the R8 wears an Audi badge and not a Porche one in order that the VAG dont upset the 911 faithful

I think it looks better. The "normal" colour R8's don't exactly stand out from the crowd like a supercar should.

Agree 100%,silver,black and even white R8's do look a little too much like TT's,this is stunning.

Not normally a massive fan of the R8......but that one looks great! Love that shade of green on the 911, and i think it suits the Audi too. I'd buy one, if i had the cash. smile

I like it.

How come at least 90% of German car lovers will only consider one in silver or black? Oh sorry, the colour white has also been invented now hasn't it! But then again 'white is the new black' or summat like that?

There's a similar thread elsewhere where someone had the shear audacity to buy a Porsche with a blue interior yikes
