Five-door Range Rover Evoque Revealed

Family-focused SUV gets snapped prior to three-door's debut

We've already shown you official pics of the three-door Range Rover Evoque that JLR will unveil at the Paris motor show, now here's one they didn't want you to see - just yet.

It's the five-door version of the Evoque which (according to reports elsewhere on 'tinternet), the company plans to reveal to an awestruck public at the Los Angeles motor show in November.

Will VB be in attendance, we wonder? It's just that the five door is shown here in a particularly orange hue, although that could simply be a lighting issue. (The five door was apparently snapped 'illegitimately' during a private preview session for dealers.)

Anyway, while the five-door lacks some of the three-door's concept-car-style 'wow' factor, it doesn't look at all bad to us. We wait for some more angles with interest.

I think this, in proper 4wd guise will be a far more realistic proposition for those looking for a baby Rangie. As much as I quite like the look of the 3 door, I can't see it being very practical at all.

Gonna be an interesting one this, as it will tread all over it's existing market for the nicer spec Freelander 2.

I like it.

The fact that Posh Spice has been linked with these things puts me right off. Shame that a brand as strong as RR had to sell out to the bling brigade...Bet it's a capable machine - but for me it loses credibility with VB's stamp.

Yes. This.

I hope this will be released as a new RR sport? Or can we expect to see a plethora of stupid RR models now?

What's up with the front door? Why don't those bits of trim marry up? JLR up to its usual high standard quality control!

looks like a blinged up Freelander, where does this sit in the range?

We're going to place an order to have one of these when we return from Mexico in 2 years. Love the Evoque, but will need the practicality of 5drs.

Win.

Don't hate me, but I actually thought it looked quite nice! But, I have no interest in this kind of car whatsoever and clicked on this story by mistake! I wouldn't accidentally buy one!

Landrover has started every model with a 3-door that lasts a couple of years and is then dropped for just the 4/5 door. Why not start with all the doors and save the production costs?

Evolution is supposed to strengthen the breed, but somehow this just looks like a squashed Freelander.

Yes - quite right, I mean forget how it drives or handles - its got some celebrity that we dont like associated with it so dont buy it.

Ok........

Seems to be quite a few cross-overs kicking about now.

A nosey today around the new Countryman today was surprising, quite practical, small enough to handle city life whilst big enough to deal with family gubbins etc.

This pic doesnt show off the LR best features though.

It's ugly, but not near as fugly as that MINI thing. (if it's in the same market)

how are we on size on this one? Is it RR Sport size or Nissan Q(ffs, can't spell it)?
