The next WRX?

We’ve received these pictures purporting to be the new Subaru Impreza this morning ahead of the New York motor show. Apparently they’re from an American car mag, and came to us via an owners' forum and American website Autoblog.

Is it for real – or is someone being trigger-happy with good old Photoshop? We’re not sure, especially as the WRX moniker was said to have been dropped for the new car.

...or a hoax...

Yes and the Impreza is normally such an attractive beast!

I don't like it at all... Those branches you can see in the background in some of the pictures, do they perchance belong to an ugly tree? And has said Impreza perchance fallen out of said tree and in doing so hit all the branches?
